It’s all about green this year. Well, at least it is in the fashion industry. The colour of the year according to Pantone. Unlike last year where there were two colours of the year and were on the pastel side this time it’s called greenery.
Greenery signifies beginnings: a fresh New Year; healthier food resolutions and growing vegetarian trends; grass and the outdoors during spring and summer.
Pantone calls Greenery “Nature’s neutral”—a hue more prominently worn during spring and summer, but one they encourage people to wear as a statement colour year round.
And it surely has been seen everywhere, from the recent fashion shows to basically everyone around me has been sporting this colour.
Out of personal experience, I saw a lot of women wear different shades of green during my brother’s wedding and it looked beautiful. Not that these women know what Pantone is or nor do they care about the colour of the year, but consciously or unconsciously we all sport the colour of the year because that is what sells in the market the most.
I definitely did witness new profound love for green as it was never really my favourite. But now I can’t stop wearing it. Olive green and mint is my favourite. what about you?
